The 2024 South Forsyth football team represents at the Forsyth County News’ Media day.

South Forsyth High was represented well at the Forsyth Conty News Football Media Days. From Left: #71, Sr OL/DL AJ Dahl. Dahl looks and sounds like a captain. He talked about loving his teammates and playing for each other. He talked about the team goal of getting better every day. Keeping him healthy will be a priority. #1 Sr WR/DB Harrison Spencer is softspoken but direct and to the point. He said a couple of times that they were going to take it game by game because every game would present new challenges. Head Coach Troy Morris (3rd season), #11 QB/DB Mike Missos, of who Coach says if he thought painting the feldhouse would help the team win, Mike would be out there with a paint brush tomorrow. Is it telling that Coach invited Missos, the Seniormost QB on the roster, to Media Days? Watcch and see how that question, posed by host Sullivan, gets answered. And finally #7 RB/DL Rhett Belue, Buck’s second son in the program, who Coach Morris admitted he introduced incorrectly. The Senior was an offensive lineman last season but has a number 7 jersey on in the video, AND is listed on the first itiration of the roster as #7 RB/DL. “I know I called him an O lineman when I introduced him, but I messed that up. He’s gonna play some fullback for us”, said the coach. Host: FCN Sports Editor Nicholas Sullivan Sullivan did a terrifc job setting the stage and letting the guys talk. He also asked some pointed questions that gave the fellas a chance to speak on the team moving on from a difficult last season. Sponsors: Bryan Properties and Andean Chevrolet Ricky Bryan has again put his stamp on the Forsyth County News’ preview and season of our beloved high school football teams for at least his fifth or sixth season Many thanks to him and the crew at Andean Chevrolet, both of whom are hometown heroes for making this possible.

A couple of notes about our opponent in the scrimmage at East Forsyth… The Broncos return QB Brock Szakacs, a Senior who threw for 10 touchdowns and featured a ground attack that rushed for nearly 200 yards a game last year. But 90 percent of the producers on that offense graduated, so they’ll be breaking in some new talent Should be a lot of fun as this will be a teaching senario so we should get a lot of time to get to know the new War Eagles.
