The ball fell to the turf on the South Forsyth pass on fourth down in the second overtime, and it took a minute for the West Forsyth sideline to join the defense on the field in celebration of their victory in one of the most entertaining games of the 2020 season.

South Head Coach Jeff Arnette said “It was a heck of a High School Football game.  If I had bought a ticket I surely would have enjoyed it.  But in the position I’m in, that sure was a tough one.”

Daba Fofana, West’s superb Senior running back headed to the Naval Academy (for now) led the way with 132 yards rushing and 3 TDs.

Kyle Durham, South’s superb Junior QB, was 19 of 31 for 345 yards and 2 TDs, and added 63 yards with his feet.   South outgained West overall 410 to 298.

Forsyth Sports 365 apologizes for the late posting of this masterpiece.  Family in town and the opening of the season for the Michigan Wolverines held me back.  By the way, Michigan crushed the Minnesota Golden Gophers 49-24 and introduced new QB Joe Milton to a national audience.  So for me, some of the weekend was a success.

Funny things happen when these two get together, and this was no different.  Like South missing the extra point in the first OT, leaving the door open for West should they score, which they did, and then missed their own extra point to force the second OT.  But that’s way at the end of this podcast.

So here is the replay.  It’s a very entertaining game.
