It’s tough to listen to. South Forsyth Football’s 37-20 loss to Alpharetta in Raider Valley South featued an exciting first half. The teams went to the locker room tied at 14. But South failed to bring their intensity with them when they emerged from the locker room for the second half. Alpharetta scored twice in the first two minutes to take a 28-14 lead-south would guve up more scores on another turnover and a big punt return to go down 37-14 They would score late in the game needing another td, two 2 point conversions and a field goal. Typical of their performance all night, South had a false start on the 2 point try, so they trotted out their kicker for the necessary 1 point try and he missed. Alpharetts improves to 1-5 overall, 1-2 in the region.. They’ travel to Lambert this week and still have the make up game with North Atlanta. South Forsyth falls to 2-4, 0-3 in Region 6 6A.. Up next is West Forsyth at home. It’s Greg Golden’s 250th career football game call.

Here are a few shots of our broadcast position some three and a half stories above the field.

Mike stands in one ofn the stair blocks. There were four of these to navigate. I took them one step/one leg up and down.. That’s a huge advancement for me.
Mike works around a nice looking video switcher with a fader bar that was stored in our room.
A long way down to the field.
They were grilling hot dogs right below our window two stories below and the aroma was in our noses all night., Those bleachers at the top of the photo dropped down a story and a half to the field level.
Beautiiful scoreboard in perfect view from our perch.
Mike and Greg were fired up pregame hoping for a big performance by the War Eagles.

For some comfort, here are a couple of shots of Teddie Honey lounging on the footstool on the patio. She actually whined to get up there and laid contentedly for twenty minutes or so while mom made Sunday dinner (If you have to know it was delicious blackened mahi-mahi, scalloped potatoes and green beans.)
