The Three Wise Guys
Greg Golden, Coach Arnette, Doug Thomas

The 2019 Football season ended for the South Forsyth War Eagles on a chilly, drizzly night at Norcross. The Blue Devils held South scoreless in the first round playoff game, which was a surprise given the thrills and chills the team provided all season long. Final score: Norcross 21 South Forsyth 0. When it was over, it didn’t take long for Head Coach Jeff Arnette to get up with his family for Thanksgiving to decompress, reflect a bit, and EAT! Twice!
A big breakfast and a bigger dinner.
Now that he’s back at school until Christmas Break begins, Doug and I caught up with him for what will be our final podcast of 2019. In our interview, we’ll get Coach’s thoughts on the season as a whole, his outstanding, well recognized Senior class, and the big news of the last couple weeks, the new seven team look of Region 5, 7A.

The addition of Gainesville offers a terrific opportunity to brand this the “Lake Region” with great matchups throughout. And, of course, with Denmark making the leap from 4A to 7A, the natural rivalry with South begins. So give yourself twenty minutes or so, sit back, and listen in as Greg Golden and Doug Thomas chat away with the ol’ ball coach, jeff Arnette. It’s a gift you don.t even have to unwrap! Just click and enjoy.

Our final podcast of 2019, with Greg, Doug, and Coach Arnette.

The chart above is a simple look at the growth here at Forsyth Sports 365 by month. As you can see by my addition of quote balloons, the far left shows the four months of football season in our first year associated with South Forsyth. Represented as clicks, we began without any pre promotion in the season opener at Sprayberry and never looked back. Moving to the right, you can see we focused our attention on Spring football and the Blue/White Scrimmage, which turned out to be very popular, Our interviews with coaches, players, members of the Touchdown Club and the game itself brought the largest single month audience in our history. As you can see, then, with the cluster to the far right, we shattered all previous records with the 2019 season. Other metrics tables show that we began to attract listeners from beyond the immediate South Forsyth family. Several comments told us that folks were looking forward to our live podcasts because they enjoyed the whole package. The announcers were good, and the team was good. Were thrilled with this, but not satisfied. Our goal moving forward is to continue as we have, beginning with Spring Ball 2020, and continue to make the South Forsyth brand recognized and respected across the county, and around the World! Again, THANK YOU to everyone who visits our site regularly! We intend to continue to deliver great live and recorded podcasts, highlighting the outstanding coaches, parents, staff and players that work so hard to keep the SoFo brand elite.

From all of us to all of you, have a wonderful Christmas and a safe and Happy New Year. We’ll see you again in 2020 as we begin our coverage of the next iteration of South Forsyth War Eagle Football!
