A myriad of penalties, from false starts to taunting, hindered the efforts of South Forsyth in a season opening scrimmage at Shiloh.  The Generals used that to their advantage in a 12-7 victory over the War Eagles Friday night. Shiloh looked a bit quicker and, frankly, more polished than South in this early season match up.  It is suspected that the long day of school followed by a two hour bus ride in traffic might have added to South’s woes.  They’d better get used to travel, though, as there will be plenty of it this season.

South came into the game short two of their most athletic team members, twins Chris and Josh Nelson.  The War Eagles missed their speed on both sides of the ball.  Others sat out the contest as well thanks to a slew of injuries in camp.  We’ll get with Head Coach Troy Morris mid week to see how the team will look for the 2022 Home and Season Opener this Friday vs Lanier.

Here is the replay with Greg Golden on the call, Doug Thomas as analyst and a guest appearance from Mike Newsome.
