On a rainy night in Georgia, the Lambert Longhorns avoided the mistakes and turnovers that often come with precipitation and splashed away with a 42-14 victory over the North Forsyth Raiders heading into fall break. North Forsyth had tied the score at seven and looked to seize the momentum after a penalty on the ensuing kick had the Longhorns backed up to their own thirteen yard line. But the tables were turned when Lambert’s Brian Wright took the first down handoff and sprinted 87 yards down the east sideline for the go ahead touchdown and the stampede was on. Wright would finish with an astounding 230 yards and two touchdowns before leaving the game after yet another long run with a leg injury. North Forsyth starting quarterback Jacob Bailey also left with a leg injury. Neither returned, but Wright’s dad Robert emailed Forsyth Sprts 365 to tell us Brian heard a pop, but everything checked out OK, and he’ll use the break to rest up. Lambert enters fall break at 4-1 and on a four game winning streak. North falls to 1-4 with the loss. Listen to the virtual radio REPLAY here!
