South Forsyth’s new head football coach James Thomson says he left the good vibes and good paycheck of college football for two reasons Number one, to spend more time with his kids. And number two, because he loves the area. He lived here before when he was still young and unemcumbered, at least in a family sense. He says the way they got together on the SOFO gig was predestined. He and Silipa Tuluopa ran together twenty years ago. Since then theyve gone their seperate ways. They’ve kept in tuch but haven’t seen each other once. In a recent conversation, Coach T, who lives here now and has a son balling at Georgia Tech (he’s a Center), told Coach Thomson about the opening at South. You oughtta go for it, T told him. So he did. And the rest is history. Recent history, but historic none the less. And Coach Tuluopa is coming with him. A fresh dose of Samoan football might be just what SOFO Nation needs. Greg Golden hosts, but Doug Thomas, in his role with the South Forsytn Touchdown Club, has been on this from the start. So he takes the lead in what turns out to be fifty minutes of a welcome to the neighborhood party.

***WARNING! THIS IS THE UNEDITED VERSION! This file is so large I had to pass the editor and mail drop the thing onto my laptop in mp4. which my old fashioned POS model editor can’t handle. But really, I’m the only one who wanted to stop once we got going because I knew we were going long. I just forgot to start a second recording. The other guys were splendid, they spoke up so everybody could hear them, without a pause or even a hiccup, and we just rolled it out. Afterwords, Coach Thomson said he really enjoyed it and wants to do it often. Music to our ears! Here is the first Coaches Corner interview with me and Doug and Coach Thomson (No P!) and Coach Tuluopa, exclusvely on Forsyth Sports 365, THE HOME OF SOUTH FORSYTH FOOTBALL! wAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAGLE!
