Coaches Corner: Troy Morris takes one last look back at a lost season, and a look ahead to the next page at South Forsyth.
I’m South Forsyth has hung up the cleats for the season. The 1-10 record did not reflect the grit and determination this War Eagles team played with. That might describe this squad best…they remained a team. But now the dust settles and we can only look ahead to what is on the horizon. I tried to get Coach Morris to commit to some names of who will be the headliners on next year’s team. He was tight lipped. “Those who perform will play.” he said. “So”, I said, “It’s going to be a meritocracy”
Silence.
“Depends what you mean by meritocracy.” said Coach.
I didn’t explain it in the interview, cause I thought I’d do it here. That’s what a producer does, puts the elements together in a way they’ll have the best impact.
Merit. (Noun) Something that justifies respect and praise. A measure of excellence. Defined here as playing Time.
Here’s our Coaches Corner. It’s a real fine way to end the season. And you better enjoy it as it’s all you’ll have til the holidays are over. So go enjoy your family and friends and we’ll see you in 2024.
