  • Above is the recording of Friday’s loss to Alpharetta.  The War Eagles were once again the victim of size, where a huge qb and equally large rb took Advantage of size mismatches up the middle for big gains and a few scores.
  • Todd and John Spencer did a great job on the call and conveyed from  the listeners in the chat who expressed their dismay with the officiating.

Here is this week’s Coaches Corner, where Head Football Coach James Thomson talks about the attitude adjustments needed to face an outstanding West Forsyth team at their house on Friday night.

COACHES CORNER

A personal note from the publisher.

Hey everybody, it’s Greg Golden. Doug did a pretty good job of describing the situation I am in in this Coaches Corner. It is as if I blew out an ACL and will have to sit and rehab through the off season . The critical issue is an amputated index  finger on my left hand that was actually amputated twice because the first one didn’t take… to the first knuckel…the second one took me to the big knuckle so I can still make a fist! Don’t make me mad, but it’s true. I will have to back off from climbing stadiums for the rest of the season because I really can’t use my hand until it heals up. I’ve been through a lot through the last few years, but this is only the second time that it’s knocked me out. I want to thank everybody who’s made this season great. You all know who you are, but I will mention Cindy Watkins and her family, Todd Spencer, and Brigette and Todd’s brothers. The girl with four names, Amy Charis Gregory Butler, who is always there to share my posts.  Of course my partner, Doug Thomas, coach James Thomson, my Michigan nemesis Kordell Stewart… what a pleasure it’s been to kick around a bit with him. And Coach T, who has his hands full building those lines.  I will continue to produce the games and the coaches corner from behind the scenes, but my heart will be in the booth. I hope South can get a few wins with an outside shot of the playoffs. I’ll keep rooting you guys keep digging!  I think my streak of calling games for South pauses at 95. They’ve been some of the most fun games I’ve called over the years and I will work hard to get back in the booth. Let’s go south! South Strong.
