Coaches Corner: In this season ending edition, South Forsyth Head Football Coach James Thomson joins Doug Thomas for a look back at a trying first year at the helm of a sinking ship, despite an all-star cast of assistants. Moving and insightful, Coach admits he’s got some work to do.

loop Here is the season ending edition of the Coaches Corner.  After some early season excitement, the War Eagles were competitive, but failed to carry that momentum out of the Locker Room.  Winless in Region 6, South has missed the playoffs for three straight years after a Forsyth Count record 11 straight years in the post season.  In  this season finale, Doug Thomas gets some honest answers on what Coach Thomson expects during the off season.   He’ll also be  constructing the schedule for the next two years, so stay tuned.  He might have to deal with some re-regionalization from the GHSA.  And he’s told us he has never NOT had a Spring Game.  He should have a decision made  on whether his Spring will be an intersquad scrimmage  or if he’ll go after another zschool.   But odds are he won’t skip Spring Ball in May.  Enjoy this final Coaches Corner, then wait with eager anticipation to see if Greg Golden can recover from his season ending injury to return to his greatest joy…calling a football game.  Many thanks to Doug Thomas and new partner Todd Spencer  fo carrying the load the secondp half.
