It took the offense a few series to get it together-  a couple of empty trips to the red zone,  a few errant  passes pretty much defined the first quarter for the War Eagles.  But in the second quarter Will Watkins begin to get his steps, the receivers got open and the running game really found itself with some interesting formations, and some beautiful runs by a number of running backs.  East Forsyth was tough. They scored first with a TD on a nice drive after finally getting a score in the red zone, but then south defense began to step up. The first half ended 10-10 with South scoring a touchdown from a red zone possession.  And then east answered with a field goal.  The second half was all War Eagles.  The South defense shut out the Broncos in the second half while the offense put up a couple of scores.  But the one that brought the biggest rise from the South crowd was the interception by Ollie Stark in the fourth quarter and a 70 yard return.  He put it in the end zone, but the refs broaught it back because of a block in the back.  South got the ball near East’s 40 and still scored a touchdown.  The War Eagles left Bronco stadium, way out there in the east side on Jot-Em-Down Road, happy.  We were happy too.   Our broadcast was splendid, but we didn’t get it recorded and I’m gonna tell you why. Listen to my sorry story here.  I mentioned a couple of things that we might try to do.    I’ll tell you why it’s  not entirely my fault that we didn’t get the thing recorded.  By the way, thanks for everybody who tuned in, thanks for the help of the Forsyth Count Sheriff Department, in particular Cpl Brea Kennedy ad Deputy Mike Donn, the school resource officers (or SRO) who are a couple bright lights in FOCO.

Thanks for reading.  if you’ve gotten to the end of this and you’re ready to listen to my solo podcast,  you too are a  SPORTS FREAK!!
