South Forsyth faced another lightnng delay Friday night at Riverwood, but the storm started and ended before the opening kick. It did a little damage. It took out the scoreboard. Riverwood Athletic Director Matt Taylor, a fine young soccer coach in his sixth seson with the school, said lightning hit a breaker for the scorevboard. It was running about half power until they had to disconnect because it became a fire hazard. So the game was finished with the stadium announcer calling out the time from the stopwatch of one of the officials. We had a terrific location, as the pictures below can attest. But they only gave everybody, players included, just fifteen minutes to warm up and go. We had to haul our equipment across a puddle filled tarmac and then put it together on the wet six foot table in a drizzle. That screwed up the command cues and made the mouse a little crazy. A funny mment. Ive got the sound board working and am trying to merge it with my laptop and mixlr, but I cant get my mouse to drop to the tool bar so I can open the hotspots. Id drag to the bottom of the sreen and my mouse would jump back up to the top. Doug heard me cussing and asked what was up. Look at my mouse! I screamed. It won’t follow! Mike looks over and says just use your touch pad. So finally after having to solve a few more irritating issues caused by the drizzle we got on the air. Mike had been calling the game as a warm up so when we finally came on I knew I would have to continue to engineer and cpuldnt properly bring a good call to our valued listeners, so I told him to go on. Mike Newsome did a great job as he aleays does when he gets to call a football game.. Doug was brilliant on Colour I as always. I was able to jump in occasionally as Colour II, and brought the chat to life. Riverwood kept it c;lose but South got a TD when they needed one and the 28-14 final was an exciting affair. Catch the replay in the link below. I think there’s a delay at the start but just jump ahead 10 or fifteen seconds and we’ll suddenly appear.

South Forsyth at Riverwood with Mike Newsome on play by play and analysis by Doug Thomas and Greg Golden. Engineered in the drizzle and beyond by Greg, who somehow pulled it all together despite the elements and the officials intent to hurry up and get started. We managed to capture most of it
And as promised the Trhee Muska War Eagles made it to the Waffld House on Bethelview The boys went for breakfast, Doug with an omelette and mike over easy with bacon. m I, being a man, dug into a patty melt with Bert’s Chili on my hashbrowns. Truly mahvelous.
