MSouth Forsyth’s Head Football Coach Troy Morris doesnt like the Name, Image and Likeness boom that has taken over College Football. He thinks the money being tossed about has ruined the game. How does he feel about the Georgia High School Association’s recent overwhelming approval of NIL opportunities for Georgia High School students? Listen in and find out.
The GHSA’s legalization package is loaded with rules like no high school can be mentioned. The athlete cant wear school colors. But they can make deals for their own name, image, and likeness, and must report them within seven days of their signing. So the schools can’t represent but the Touchdown Clubs can. And you can bet they will. 11 Alive news, in their recent coverage of this vote, speculated that Georgia high school athletic support groups will start marketing themselves not only around the state but also to other states where NIL is illegal, enticing young student athletes to move where the money is. Moving expenses? Part of any deal, right? Time will tell, but it’s not going backwards. High School football programs around the state are already meeting with boosters to see they might use this to benefit the program. The GHSA vote states that NIL is available immediately. Forsyth County better jump on its horse quick lest they be left behind. With the current season stumbling along at 0-7, South Forsyth boosters should be beating the bushes for a little beef. What a beautiful community it is, too.
Just get your student athletes here and our coaches will prime them for success. All while making a little dough for your picture in an auto dealer’s lobby. What? Lambert’s offering the car too? 💵
And so it begins.
