The old saying “It’s hard to beat a team 3 times in a season” held true for the Lady War Eagles earlier when they beat West Forsyth in the Region 6-7A semi finals. Unfortunately the same didn’t hold true for North Forsyth as they dropped South Forsyth in the Region 6-7A finals by four, 46-42, the closest finish against the Lady Raiders this season.
This is North’s fourth straight Region title, and the starters are all juniors. Don’t look ahead just yet, though
The win finishes the tourney with North Forsyth Ladies Hoops the Tournament AND regular season champs. They’ll go into the state tournament as a number one seed. South will finish in second and will play the third place team from Region 7-7A next week in the first round of the Georgia State Playoffs playoffs.
Meanwhile, the Boys take on Denmark tonight for the Region 6-7A Championship in the Arena. South is looking to extend its winning streak to 17 games. The last team they lost to? Denmark. So they’re even on the season, no old adages apply.
