South Forsyth missed the Ga GHSA playoffs for the third straight season, the first under new HFC James Thomson llland his staff. The War Eagles were winless in Region 6, 6A. There is a lot of work to do, as encapsulated by Todd Spencer and Doug Thomas in the close. Unfortunatly, technical difficuties made it nearly impossible to get the opening audio of Doug’s Senior Night recognitions. The cleanest audio came just before halftime and included Todd’s 2nd half call. Just click along the audio timeline to move about. Some of the recognitions is eligible but you’ll have to search on your own. Many thanks to Brigitte and Todd Spencer for their extraordinary effort in light of Greg’s finger amputation. It just made it impossible to get into press boxes. Greg couldn’t hold on to anything. The next step is an angiogram this week. The fistula on the upper left arm is in good shape, but there may be some calcium blockage between the elbow and hand that is compromising blood flow and inhibiting healing. But the Goldenboy is intent on being able to get back to the call one way or another for the Spring Scrimmage, which may or may not be an intrasquad game. The new schedule will be constructed by Coach Thomson, so he could easily decide to play somebody else in May. He did tell us in an earlier Coaches Corner that he had never NOT had a spring game. So Stay Tuned. Many thanks also to my partner and new two-time grampa Doug Thomas, who both son and daughter have blessed him with next generation lads. Doug was in the box as many as three or four times a week, running the scoreboard for the middle school, Ninth Grade, JV and Varsity games. Thanks to Todd’s brothers Chuck and John for helping on the calls, and for the rest of the fam (includig the unrelated – wait who says she’s not related – Aunt Amy – first one in, last one out) and the rest of our fabulous fan base; and finally to the South Forsyth Touchdown Club for their tremendous support. Now if we can all put our heads together and figure out how to get bigger as a squad so we’ll quit getting pushed around. It’s hard to keep guys off your QB when they outweigh you by fifty pounds across the line. Have a great Holidays and keep your eyes peeled for who can provide those Grow Pills over the next few months, or how we can get some beef to enroll at South. Everybody else is doing it. I’m pretty sure Doug and Coach Thomson will do a Coaches Corner interview mid week Be on the lookout
