Trailing 14-7 at the half, the   South Forsyth White team used points amassed during a halftime kicking contest to pull out a 26-24 victory over the Blue squad in the 2022 Blue/White scrimmage Friday night, May 20 at Jeff Arnette Field at War Eagle Stadium
The game opened with tons f offense early as QBs Ty Watson and Cade Aycock combined to throw for three scores    But that ended scoring in regulation VB over the next three quarters   A unique kicking contest which awarded 1, 2 and three points in a rotating fashion accounted for the final total   Greg Golden and Mike Newsome handled the call, with special guest former War Eagle head coach Jeff Arnette stepping in during pre game and half time   Coach offered some terrific insight to Troy Morris’ team along the way.  Doug Thomas, the stadium voice of the War Eagles, helped to put a cap on the podcast at the close.
It was an entertaining evening of football that will have to hold fans over til the 2022 season kicks off with a scrimmage at Shiloh High in mid August   Greg and Doug will have that call for you live.  It also demonstrated a an athletic squad with a few new faces to look forward to next season.
